Why does the Intel® FPGA JTAG Cable driver installation fail on Windows* operating system?

Environment

    Description

    Due to a problem with the digital signature for the USB JTAG driver in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.2 and 22.3, the cable drivers may fail to install on Windows*.  A message appears during driver installation that reads :

    Altera (WinUSB) JTAG cables (10/13/2018) – Install failed.

    Resolution

    A patch is available to fix this problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software versions 22.2 and 22.3.

    Download and run the patch to install the corrected USB drivers.

    This problem is scheduled to be resolved in a future release of the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software.
