Why does the Intel® Quartus® Prime Software quit unexpectedly when Cyclone® V FPGA Hard IP for PCIe is used?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition
  • ASMI Parallel Intel® FPGA IP
    • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

    You will encounter this error when you have assigned your I/O pin location to pin_perst. Pin_perst is reserved for Cyclone® V FPGA Hard IP for PCIe. 

    Resolution

    To work around this issue, avoid assigning any pin location to pin_perst.
