RapidIO IP Core Might Lose TX Buffers During Resynchronization of ackID Value

Environment

  • Quartus® II Subscription Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT

    Critical Issue

    Description

If you resynchronize the ackID value for your RapidIO IP core instance, the IP core should reset the expected ackID value in the Port 0 Local AckID CSR at offset 0x148. The change tells the IP core the next packet to acknowledge.

However, the RapidIO IP core does not update this information correctly. Therefore, the IP core does not identify buffers to be freed when packets are acknowledged, and the IP core might eventually run out of buffers to send packets.

    Resolution

    This issue has no workaround.

This issue is fixed in version 11.1 of the RapidIO MegaCore function.
