Why does my CPRI master fail to reach HFNSYNC with a non-Altera CPRI slave?

Environment

  • Quartus® II Subscription Edition
    • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

    Due to a problem with the CPRI MegaCore® in version 11.1 and earlier of the Quartus® II software, systems which use the Altera® CPRI MegaCore as the master and a different vendor as slave may fail to reach the HFNSYNC state.

    This does not affect systems where there is a 3rd party CPRI master connected to an Altera CPRI MegaCore configured as slave or systems where both nodes use the Altera CPRI MegaCore.

    Resolution

    This problem is resolved in version 12.0 and later of the Quartus II software.
