Why don’t the ALTLVDS_RX and ALTLVDS_TX MegaWizard GUIs open in the Quartus II software version 10.0?

Description

Due to a problem with the ALTLVDS_RX and ALTLVDS_TX MegaWizard™ GUIs in the Quartus® II software version 10.0 and 10.0 SP1,  the MegaWizard GUI may not open if the local language setting of your machine is set to a non-English language. 

To work around this problem, make sure the regional settings on your machine is set to English (<UK or United States>). This will not affect keyboard mappings, but will affect the default number separators:

  1. Open the  Regional and Language Options menu from the Windows Control Panel.
  2. In the Standards and Formats box, select  English (UK) or English (United States) from the drop down list.
  3. The “.” symbols change to “,” symbols in the Number section of the Samples window.

This problem is fixed beginning in the Quartus II software version 10.1.
