Intel® Core™ i9K and i9KS Boxed Desktop Processors Packaging Transition
Select Intel® Core™ i9K and i9KS Boxed desktop processors go through a standard transition with packaging to highlight the most recent processor on the market. These select high end desktop processors first come in a premium box design and remain available until a new processor is expected to launch to market. Timing is shared through product change notices (PCN for Intel® Processors) available to the public.
| Note | Customers may still find both packaging options available in the market, even when Intel discontinues the premium boxes. When submitting a warranty replacement, customer should be ready to receive either standard or premium package. There is no change to the processor, only the packaging. |
