The following information lists the known issues with the Intel® VROC 7.0 release for Windows*. To learn about the latest updates of Intel® VROC for Windows*, refer to the Intel® Virtual RAID on CPU (Intel® VROC) Release Notes for Windows*.

Issue ID Description
1306412122 Setting the LED configuration of empty slot as fail may not show Fail when the slot is empty.
1407347823 Intel® Rapid Storage Technology enterprise (Intel® RSTe) RCfgRSTeRS.efi disk IDs may not be consistent with a RAID 5 volume created with journaling drive and the process may become unresponsive.
1409667894 The option to locate a LED (Locate LED) from the Intel® VROC BIOS HII menu causes the page to exit prematurely.
1507710434 When using the Intel® VROC Legacy Option ROM, the RAID volume may not be displayed properly when the RAID volume is greater than 10TB.
1507753655 When running stress testing on M.2 slots managed by the sSATA controller, an isStorB error may be logged.
1805900436 The Intel® VROC F6 drivers may not properly load, and a refresh may be required.
1806564424 The system may fail to start after an unexpected power loss.
1808018122 Trying to clear a SMART event from a drive after a RAID volume is rebuilt (to another drive) may show up as an unknown disk.
1808094827 The Intel® VROC (VMD NVMe* RAID) Pre-OS environment may only show 32 NVMe* drives in the Intel® VROC HII.
1808160495 The Intel® VROC Graphical User Interface (GUI) and Command-Line Interface (CLI) utilities that manage Intel® VROC (NonVMD NVMe* RAID) Intel NVMe* SSDs may not properly gray out those drives when they are attached to the platform's PCH controller. Intel® VROC (NonVMD NVMe* RAID) currently does not support Intel NVMe* SSDs attached to the platform PCH.
1808275753 A wrong RAID volume state may be displayed after a dirty shutdown.
1808389290 The Intel® VROC rebuild LED behavior may not operate properly when customized to blink all LEDs during a RAID rebuild.
1808630874 When running the Intel® VROC installer, the system report may show the Intel® VROC (SATA RAID) version as the same as the Intel® VROC (VMD NVMe* RAID) version when in fact, it is different. The version obtained from the Windows* Device Manager is correct.
1808963497 RAID initialization may not be automatically performed when the Verify or Verify and Repair process is initiated by the Intel® VROC Command-Line Interface (CLI) utility on an uninitialized volume.
1809368620 The error notification about a failed volume may not be shown in the Intel® VROC Graphical User Interface (GUI) utility.
1809400331 Intel® VROC rebuild on hot-insert may not work properly on a matrix RAID volume when one of the volumes is a RAID 0 volume.
14011049937 The order of the SATA drives attached to the sSATA controller may not match that of how they may be reported in the SATA controller.
14011249412 The option to activate a LED (Activate LED) may not work for non-Intel drives when using the Intel SSD Only license.
14011446153 Exporting the output from the Intel® VROC Command-Line Interface (CLI) utility to an .xml file may not work properly. This is a known limitation with this tool.
18010905203 Creating a RAID volume from the Intel® VROC Pre-OS with drives connected to JBOF may not succeed and result in the error message: Create volume failed! Cannot write to disk.
18010986194 The Intel® VROC Pre-OS may not properly show a boot RAID volume as bootable after the RAID volume encounters a fail condition.
18011258092 Clearing RAID metadata from the RCfg tool may result in a platform hang in UEFI and ASSERT.
18011468952 When using the Intel® VROC HII to create a RAID volume using drives with different attributes, the warning message may not be displayed.
18011690000 The option to activate a LED (Active LED) may not work in the Intel® VROC Graphical User Interface (GUI) and Command-Line Interface (CLI) utilities, when using the Intel SSD Only license.
18011792455 When using a hot spare back plane from a Whitley platform in Cedar Island platform, the SATA LEDs may not work properly.
22010314523 Migration of one RAID 10 volume to a RAID 5 volume may cause another RAID 10 volume, in the system, to automatically re-initialize.
22010429904 The default RAID volume size varies for RAID volumes created from the Intel® VROC Pre-OS and Graphical User Interface (GUI) utility.
22010691032

The Intel® VROC installer help dialog does not contain all available setup options. The missing options are:

  • -a: Extracts all driver files.
  • -nodrv: Does not install the driver.
  • -nogui: Does not create a start menu shortcut for the application.
  • -noservice: Does not install the event monitor service.
  • -notray: Does not install the tray icon.
  • -overwrite: Ignores the overwrite warning. Only downgrade flag, without upgrade flag.
