Cannot Set IGD (Integrated Graphics Device) Minimum Memory to 1024MB or 2048MB on the Intel® NUC Kit - NUC6i7KYK

BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Summary

IGD Minimum Memory can be set to 1024MB or 2048MB only when Thunderbolt™ Controller is disabled in BIOS Setup.

Description

The Intel® NUC Kit NUC6i7KYK doesn't allow you to select 1024MB or 2048MB as the IGD Minimum Memory if you enable the Thunderbolt™ Controller in BIOS Setup.

Resolution

This is due to a conflict of resources with the Thunderbolt controller; it uses up to 2048MB IGD Minimum Memory from PCIe resources.

If this amount of memory is needed for the Integrated Graphics Device, the Thunderbolt controller should be disabled.

  1. Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS Setup.
  2. Go to Advanced > Devices > Onboard Devices.
  3. Disable (uncheck) Thunderbolt™ Controller.
  4. Press F10 to save and exit BIOS Setup.
