Configuration needed for the first boot up systems with Ubuntu 22.04 LTS after installing an Intel® Arc™ Graphics card.
While trying to boot up Ubuntu 22.04 LTS system after installing an Intel Arc Graphics Card, there might be an error message like the following if a driver is not installed.
snd_hda_intel 0000:04:00.0 hsw/bdw hd-audio hdmi/dp requires binding with gfx driver
This prevents the system to resume booting.
It is necessary to check the BIOS advanced graphics configuration and:
- Set System preferred GPU to PEG (PCI-E Graphics). This is the discrete graphics card.
- Disable Integrated graphics Multi-Monitor option.
Note | This settings' location and name may vary between manufacturers. Consult the motherboards BIOS user manual or contact the manufacturer for guidance. |
With this settings the system should boot up normally and let the customer install the drivers.
After installing the drivers, the Integrated graphics Multi-Monitor option can be enabled again without having the former issue.
