Description

FRU area corruption in Intel® Server Board M50CYP may result in Invalid FRU field defined error during FRU SDR update in the firmware update process.

FRU information in the BMC web console may not display the details.

Resolution
  1. Copy the corresponding Firmware package for Intel® Server Board M50CYP to a USB drive. For example, if the system has R0006 BIOS, copy R0006 firmware package for UEFI to USB.
  2. Connect the USB drive to the system and boot to EFI shell.
  3. Type Fs0: or Fs1: to switch to USB drive
  4. Type the following command in Shell prompt

    For 1U system - # sysfwupdt.efi -fru M50CYP2SB1U.fru

    For 2U system - # sysfwupdt.efi -fru M50CYP2SBSTD.fru

  5. Run UpdM50FruSdr_CYP.nsh and select option 3 to update the FRU details.
