BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Summary

Describes the BIOS steps to turn off E-cores.

Description

Can the E-cores be turned off in BIOS for 12th Generation Intel® NUCs?

Resolution

Intel does not recommend turning off the E-cores, as this may negatively impact system performance, and at least one E-core will remain enabled (not all of them can be turned off).

To turn off the E-cores, follow these steps:

  1. Access the System BIOS.
  2. Go to Power, Performance and Cooling menu.
  3. Set External Ambient Temperature -Tolerance to User Defined.
  4. Click on Performance.
  5. Click on Processor.
  6. Set all Active Atom Cores to 1.
