Try these recommendations to resolve Intel® Arc™ Control failing to launch.
Intel® Arc™ Control intermittently cannot be launched. After failed launch it cannot be opened again.
- Uninstall any pre-existing third-party graphics drivers.
- Disconnect from the internet to make sure the driver will not be automatically updated by Windows*.
- Open the Device Manager by right-clicking the Windows Start button. Select Device Manager.
- Expand the Display adapters section.
- Identify the third-party graphics device among the options listed.
- Right-click on the third-party graphics and click Uninstall.
- In the device removal dialog box, check Delete the driver software for this device and click OK.
- Restart the computer after the uninstallation is complete.
- Open the Device Manager.
- Expand the Display adapters section again.
- If no older drivers are stored in the system, you will only see the device “Microsoft Basic Display Driver”. If not, repeat steps 4 through 6.
- Reboot the computer when prompted.
If the Device Manager method fails, you may use the Display Driver Uninstaller to uninstall the third-party graphics drivers.
- Update to the latest version of Intel® Arc™ Control by installing Intel Arc graphics driver version 31.0.101.4502 or newer.
Note The Intel Arc Graphics driver is bundled with Intel Arc Control. Install the graphics driver to update Intel Arc Control. - Also choose Customize during installation and check the Perform a clean installation checkbox.
- Confirm the system meets the following minimum system requirements:
- 11th Generation Intel® Core processor or newer or an Intel® Arc™ Dedicated Graphics card
- Windows® 10 version 2004 or higher
- Windows 11* version 21H2 or higher
- Intel® Graphics driver version Intel Arc graphics driver version 31.0.101.4502 or newer.
- Intel® Driver & Support Assistant version 22.1.8.8 or newer
- Internet connection
