Troubleshooting tips if you cannot connect to a 2.4GHz network.
The Intel® WiFi can only connect to a 5GHz bandwidth but not the regular 2.4GHz.
- Install the latest original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or Intel generic driver.
- Follow the recommended settings for Intel® Wireless Adapters supporting 802.11ac, 802.11n or 802.11ax connectivity.
- Change the Preferred band of the wireless adapter to No Preference (Default) or Prefer 2.4 GHz band. See more detailed info and how to change these settings under the Advanced tab of the Windows* Device Manager properties.
- Reboot the device and scan for available updates.
- Forget Wifi network that can't connect then manually add the wifi network.
If the Intel wireless adapter was newly integrated into your device, check with the motherboard manufacturer if the wireless adapter is compatible and has been regulated to work on the motherboard. Check Regulatory Information Regarding Wireless Hardware Installation or Upgrade for reference.
