Resolution
There are various ways to check the authenticity of an Intel Network Adapter, please try the following steps;
- Check the the NIC if it has a BradyID or Yottamark sticker and validate the code using their site.
- If still in doubt you can also contact Intel's support to validate the physical markings and the PCB of the NIC.

- Yes, the firmware version is 1.63 for the I350-T4 Adapter. Specifically firmware-package EEPROM Version: 1.99 (1.63).
- Retail adapters such as the I350-T4 should not need a firmware update, only driver updates.
