Summary

Steps to solve screen flickering that occurs when using Document Cameras and Docking Station.

Description

Screen flickers when opening the Document Camera app on a system with Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics when docking station is plugged in the system.

The Document Camera is directly connected to the computer via a straight-through USB connection without going through the docking station. However, there seems to be a compatibility or interference issue between both devices. There is no flickering issue when removing the docking station and restarting the computer. The problem returns as soon as the docking station is plugged in back.

The behavior also happens when using the computer's built-in camera and the Windows® native camera app.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, follow the steps below:

  1. Update the Operating System, refer to Update Windows*.
  2. Perform a Clean Installation of Intel® Graphics Drivers in Windows*. Contact the computer manufacturer (OEM) for the latest driver updates. If drivers are not available from the OEM, browse for the appropriate driver on Download Center.
  3. Update the Document Camera software. Check with the device manufacturer for the latest software release.
  4. Update the BIOS. Contact the OEM for the latest BIOS updates available for your system and for assistance with the BIOS update instructions.
  5. Update the firmware for the docking station. Contact the manufacturer for the latest firmware and installation instructions.
