Summary

Install the latest Intel® Graphics – Windows* DCH Drivers, but if the issue persists, contact the laptop manufacturer.

Description

Discoloration issue with laptop screen.

Resolution

To determine if the Graphics Driver or a malfunctioning laptop screen is causing the discoloration:

  1. to use a different working monitor to isolate the issue
    • If the issue is not replicated, advise the customer to contact the laptop manufacturer.
    • If the issue persists using a different working monitor, install the latest Intel® Graphics – Windows* DCH Drivers driver 30.101.1934, 30.0.101.1660 or 15.45.34.5174 for (Intel® Graphics Driver for 6th Gen on Windows 7* and Windows 8.1*/10* 64-bit.)
  2. After installing the latest Intel® Graphics – Windows* DCH Drivers driver and the issue is still unresolved, contact the laptop manufacturer to get the right driver.
Note

Check and see if an internal visual cable is loose.

If not, you can try the following:

  • Booting into Safe Mode to see if the discoloration is visible there.
  • Use Windows Updates and the HP Support Assistant to find updates.
