Summary

How to resolve error 182 occurring on OEM systems with AMD Radeon RX Vega M GL Graphics.

Description

The latest Radeon* RX Vega M driver from Intel can't be installed on the device (Intel Core i7-8705G). It shows Error 182.

Resolution

We recommend always getting the latest driver from the computer manufacturer. However, to install a newer Intel generic driver or if the computer manufacturer no longer provides new drivers, you can perform a "have-disk installation" of a generic Intel® Graphics Driver using the steps below. Be aware that it risks system instability, losing functionality, or causing other technical issues that OEM drivers seek to resolve or enable.

  1. Download and save the .zip file from Download Center.
  2. Go to where the .zip file is saved and unzip it.
  3. Open the Device Manager:
    • Windows 11*/10*: Right-click the Windows Start button. Select Device Manager.
  4. Expand the Display adapters section.
  5. Right-click the Radeon RX Vega M GL Graphics.
  6. Select Update driver.
  7. Click Browse my computer for driver software.
  8. Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
  9. Click Have Disk.
  10. Click Browse. Select the location where the driver files are located. The target .inf can be found within the driver folder in Packages > Drivers > Display > WT6A_INF > U0374970.inf
  11. Click Next. Drivers are being installed.
  12. Reboot the computer when prompted.
NoteUsing the Have-Disk method bypasses the installer designed to install the drivers, thereby possibly resulting in minor to catastrophic issues on your system and system instability. We recommend only using the Installer (.exe) provided by Intel or your computer manufacturer.
