Steps to solve latency issues by changing settings in BIOS
- Experienced considerable speed problems when writing a lot of small packages to various data carriers connected Intel® M50CYP Server Board Family.
- Noticed latency of 40-45 seconds depending on the drive model.
- Reset BIOS to default and change the following settings:
Advanced>Processor configuration>LLC Prefetch - Disabled
Advanced>Power and Performance>CPU P state control> Energy Efficient Turbo - Disabled
Advanced>Power and Performance>Hardware P states - Disabled
Advanced>Memory Configuration>Memory RAS and Perf Config >Patrol Scrub - Disabled
Advanced>Power and Performance>CPU C state Control>Package C state - Disabled
Advanced>Power and Performance>CPU C state Control>C1E- Disabled
Advanced>Power and Performance>CPU C state Control> Processor C6 - Disabled - Save changes and reboot your system.
BIOS default settings can be restored with F9 key.
