Description

Need to understand 1S and 2S Scalability information of Intel® Xeon® Processors

Resolution

A value of 1S means that the processor can be used in a 1-socket system. An Intel® Xeon® processor that supports 2S scalability can be used in a server with up to two sockets.

Some Intel Xeon processors support 2S.  These processors can be added as a second processor to scale up 2 socket-server systems to handle additional loads.   Both processors must match in processor or model number.
