How to fix the reboot issue on Linux OS by disabling Wake on USB from S5.
Description
- When launching the shutdown command (shutdown and halt) from within Proxmox (Linux based), the system automatically restarts after a few seconds when connected to UPS (through USB port)
- The NUC shuts down normally when not connected to UPS
Resolution
- Press F9 to Load Optimal Defaults.
- Press F10 to Save and Exit.
- Boot into your Operating System.
- Press the power button, which triggers proper OS shutdown.
The system will still restart.
- Press F2 during boot to access the BIOS Settings,.
- Navigate to the Power section.
- Change the USB S4/S5 Power from OFF to ON.
- Set Wake on USB from S5 from ON to OFF.
- Set USB S4/S5 Power from ON back to OFF.
- Press F10 to Save and Exit.
- Boot into your Operating System.
- Press the Power button, which triggers shutdown.
The system should now shutdown normally.
