How to disable Multi-Core Enhancement (MCE) to prevent overheating

Description

CPU runs hot and uses more power under high load while MCE is active.

Resolution

High temperature ranges may be encountered when Multi-Core Enhancement is enabled in BIOS. To disable it, proceed as follows:

  1. Enter BIOS by using the F2 key.
  2. Select Advanced Mode by using the F7 key.
  3. Select AI Tweaker option.
  4. Change ASUS* Multi-Core Enhancement from Auto to Disabled.
  5. Press F10 to save the new configuration settings and reset the computer.

For Gigabyte* boards: They have an equivalent setting called Enhanced Multi-Core Performance.
