Description

Unable to access the Intel® Management Engine BIOS Extension (Intel® MEBx Bios) of the client machine

Resolution

Intel® Endpoint Management Assistance (Intel® EMA) has an option to gather the random Administrative Password; necessary to access the Intel® Management Engine BIOS Extension (Intel® MEBx) of the client machines.

The steps need to be done in the client machine and require PowerShell.

  1. Download the Intel® Endpoint Management Assistant (Intel® EMA) API Sample Scripts
  2. Unzip the folder.
  3. Copy the unzipped folder and paste it to C:\inetpub\wwwroot
  4. Run the command below from the location mentioned before, using PowerShell (running as Administrator)

Get-IntelEMAEndpointMEBXPassword.ps1 -<emaServerURL> <EMA Server FQDN> -hostname <hostname> -Verbose

Additional commands are included in the Ema_Install_Package zip file, into the folder called Samples.
