Description
Switching to I210-T1 because the Intel® Gigabit CT Desktop Adapter End of Life (EOL) notification has been released. Will I210-T1 be direct plug in compatible or require PCB changes?
Resolution
The I210-T1 can be use as an upgrade path from Intel Gigabit CT Ethernet adapter. The I210-T1 adapter's PCIe transfer rate is 2.5 GT/s so it technically would not be affected if it installed on PCIe 1.1 slot.
- Consider the Supported Operating Systems for Retail Intel® Ethernet Adapters and if drivers are available.
- Check with System manufacturer for list of validated components such as Ethernet Adapters to confirm if the I210-T1 adapter is validated.
