Troubleshooting steps for an Intel® NUC getting the error, "A bootable device has not been detected" or "No Boot Device Found."
The Intel® NUC shows a message saying No boot device found during startup and the Disc LED doesn't seem to work.
Use a USB keyboard to check if the drive is detected in the BIOS (a Bluetooth keyboard won't be able to access the BIOS).
- Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS Setup.
- On the Advanced > Boot menu, check the Boot Drive Order.
- Press F10 to exit BIOS Setup.
If Boot Drive Order shows No Boot Drive, the drive inside the NUC may not be seated properly or it might have failed. Here are some items to try. If none of them work, contact Intel Customer Support.
- Open the Intel NUC to reseat the SSD. Confirm the SSD is inserted correctly and fully seated in the socket.
- If a SATA SSD is inserted into a daughter card, verify the SATA power and data wires are connected to the board.
- Make sure the proper SSD is in the correct slot. Some slots may only support NVMe/PCIe SSDs or SATA SSDs, other slots may support both. Confirm in the Technical Product Specifications.
- Use a different SSD.
- Check if the bootable drive is corrupted
- If the drive is corrupted, try to reinstall the Operating System
- Check the partition style of the boot drive. The partition style is based on your Operating System.
Note If you are trying to use UEFI Boot in your Intel NUC BIOS settings, please use GPT partition style.
