How to remove the message from appearing on the desktop

Description

An error message shows up at the top-left corner of the screen indicating that Intel® Optane™ Memory is disabled, but there is no Optane™ Memory hardware installed.  This notification cannot be removed, closed or moved.

Resolution

This error is caused by the legacy Intel® Optane™ Memory User Interface. If the system does not contain any Intel® Optane™ memory devices, proceed with uninstalling this application to remove the message.

NoteIf it is unclear if the system contains an Intel® Optane™ memory device, check with the system manufacturer or Intel® Support before proceeding.

Steps to resolve by uninstalling the application:

  1. Click the start menu button.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Go to Apps.
  4. Look for Intel® Optane™ Memory.
  5. Click Intel® Optane™ Memory and then click Uninstall.
  6. Restart the system.
