Considerations that may influence the fulfillment of replacement products
Intel new or refurbished replacement products?
Depending on product availability at the time of your request, you may receive either a new or a refurbished product, where allowed, by local regulation.
- The product (new or refurbished) may or may not be packaged in an Intel branded box.
- The product may be shipped in an unmarked brown carton for fraud protection.
The warranty period of the replacement items (new or refurbished) is the balance of the original purchased unit's warranty date of purchase or 90 days, whichever is greater. The warranty period of the original product does not renew upon replacement.
Intel reserves the right to screen returned items to confirm the failure reported, perform visual-cosmetic inspection, and electrical-functional screen testing.
- If during the screening process a unit does not fail, Intel will classify it No Defect Found. Intel reserves the right to return the exact unit back to the warranty requestor, which then completes the warranty obligation.
- If during the screening process a unit is found to have visual-cosmetic defects beyond the manufacturing specifications, Intel will classify it Customer Induced Damage. Intel reserves the right to deny warranty and return the exact unit back to the warranty requestor which then completes the warranty obligation
- If during the screening process a unit is found to be fraudulent, Intel reserves and will exercise its right to confiscate the unit under OEM Fraudulent IP Protection and will deny the warranty obligation.
