Wake on Lan (WOL) Does Not Work on Intel® Ethernet Controller I225-V after Updating the NVM Version

Windows® 10, 64-bit*

Description

  • WOL stopped working after turning off the computer.
  • The LEDs on the network card are off after completely turning off the power supply.
  • After turning on the computer, the LEDs light up and WOL works.

Resolution

  • Under Advanced Tab
    1.  Set Enable PME to ENABLED
  • Under Power Management Tab and then under Power Save Options:
    1. Uncheck Energy Efficient Ethernet
    2. Check Wake on Magic Packet
    3. Check Wake on Pattern Match
    4. Check Wake on Magic Packet from power off state
    5. Reboot the system.
  • If issue still occurs, contact your motherboard manufacturer for further assistance as the controller is embedded on an OEM system.
