Description

Intel® Server Board S2600WFTR system fans speed and down randomly when the unit is set vertically and not horizontally

Resolution

The System Acoustic and Performance Configuration screen allows the user to configure the thermal control behavior of the system with respect to the parameters used in the system’s fan speed control algorithms. This recommendation may help to reduce the problem.

To access this screen from the BIOS front page:

  1. Select Advanced > System Acoustic and Performance Configuration.
  2. Press the key to return to the Advanced screen.
  3. Go to the BIOS Setup Utility User Guide for the Intel® Server Board S2600 Family Supporting the Intel® Xeon Scalable Processor Family, to learn more about how to configure the Fan profile, Fan PWM offset, the Air Flow limit, and more, in the section System Acoustic and Performance Configuration.
