Steps to download the available RoHS Compliance documentation with Phthalate restrictions for Intel® products.
Unable to find the RoHS Compliance documentation with Phthalate restrictions for my Intel product.
RoHS 2 (2011/65/EU) went into effect in 2011 and is still the official RoHS directive. The 2015/863/EU amends Annex II of RoHS 2 (2011/65/EU) to add the 4 phthalates, bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) to the list of restricted substances. The restriction took effect from July 22, 2019, for electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) products. The 2015/863/EU amendment does not supersede RoHS 2 (2011/65/EU), nor is it regarded as RoHS 3.
To find the available RoHS Compliance documentation with Phthalate restrictions for your Intel product follow the steps below:
Intel Dear Customer Letter (DCL)
- Go to Resource and Design Center
- Search for Intel RoHS Phthalates DCL or Product Ecology for a full list of ecology related DCLs
- Access directly the Intel DCL for RoHS Phthalate document
Intel Material Declaration Data Sheet (MDDS)
- Get the MDDS document by following the instructions in How to Find Material Declaration Data Sheets (MDDS) for Intel® Products
- Within the MDDS document, scan for the specific phthalates of concern using the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) registration number. The information is typically under the RoHS section but could also be under the Other Declarable Substances section.
- DEHP, Bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, CAS# 117-81-7
- DBP, Dibutyl phthalate, CAS# 84-74-2
- BBP, Benzyl butyl phthalate, CAS# 85-68-7
- DIBP, Diisobutyl phthalate, CAS# 84-69-5
Use our IEC62474 MDDS documents in conjunction with the Phthalate DCL and be assured that the product in question is ROHS 2 compliant.
Our IEC62474 Material Declaration Data Sheet (MDDS) contains valid verdict against RoHS 2 and its amendments. As shown in the table below, in more recent revisions of IEC62474 documents, the response to the RoHS compliant query under the Declaration table will be True if the product is compliant. Presence of any of the 4 phthalates above threshold would cause response to show as False.
Declaration
LHPLA | This product is Low Halogen (Components): Applies only to brominated and chlorinated flame retardants (BFRs/CFRs) and PVC in the final product. The replacement of halogenated flame retardants may not be better for the environment. Intel Components as well as purchased components on the finished assembly meet the joint JEDEC/ECA JS-709B requirement. | True |
LHPWB | This product is Low Halogen (PCB): Applies Br/Cl in the PCB Laminate. The PCB / Substrate meet IEC 61249-2-21 requirements. The replacement of halogenated flame retardants may not be better for the environment. | True |
PVC | This product does not contain PVC. | True |
SVHC | Product Contains REACh SVHC above.1% of article. | False |
RoHS Complaint | Product is compliant with EU RoHS Directive 2 2011/65/EU (Directive 2011/65/EU) and its amendments (e.g. 2015/863/EU). | True |
Our IEC62474 MDDS also includes the data related to these 4 phthalates as well as other RoHS substances. Under the RoHS table, the False response to the Above Threshold (T/F) query indicates the substance is not present above threshold. If a substance is above threshold, the response will be True and the substance mass percentage data and exemption information (if applicable) will also be provided. Refer to the table below.
Note |
Blank columns below are required per standard and provide further evidence that these substances are not present above threshold. |
