How to Fix BSOD with iaStorAC.sys on Intel® Rapid Storage Technology

Description

  • The computer crashes on a new build when trying to open the Intel® Rapid Storage (Intel® RST) console
  • Error message: FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: 0x9F_3_disk_IMAGE_iaStorAC.sys

Resolution

Follow the steps below:

  1. Download and install the latest Intel® RST driver from the computer manufacturer or the latest version offered at the Intel Download Center.
  2. Check if the error message remains.
  3. If the error message persists, capture the complete BSOD dump files for analysis. Follow the steps below:
    1. Right click Windows' icon and select System > About.
    2. Under Related Settings/Links, select Advanced system settings.
    3. Click on Settings in the Startup and Recovery section.
    4. Look for the Write debugging information dropdown and select Complete memory dump.
    5. The memory dump file is typically located in %SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP with system root is typically C:\Windows.
