Description

During the Power-on Self Test (POST) system shows a 0x36 error and can't Boot.

Resolution
  1. Reseat System Fans, make sure they are connected to the right fan header.
  2. Replace with known good fans (if possible)
  3. If the issue continues contact Intel Technical Support.

0x36 error message points to a Fan Failure or a Fan Tachometer Sensors on the BMC not working. This means the fan speed has dropped below its lower threshold.

A fan speed error on a new system build is typically not caused by the fan spinning too slowly; instead, can be caused by the fan being connected to the wrong header, a defective Fan, or in the worst-case scenario a BMC sensor defective on the Server Board.
