Unable to boot RHEL* OS from Legacy mode

Resolution

If the operating system is already installed on the Intel® Server System, follow these steps:

  1. Verify if the operating system was installed under UEFI or Legacy boot mode.
  2. Enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. Verify if the current boot mode is set to the same as the operating system's Installation type.
    • If the boot mode is not same, make the necessary changes from UEFI to Legacy or vice-versa, and then reboot the system.
  4. Check that the boot option has the operating system device as the first boot priority.
  5. Reboot the server after the BIOS changes.
