Describes the differences between Centered, Stretched, Maintain Aspect Ratio, Maintain Display Scaling, and Custom scaling options in the Intel® Graphics Command Center.
Do not understand the difference between the following scaling options:
- Centered
- Stretched
- Maintain Aspect Ratio
- Maintain Display Scaling
- Custom
Centered: The image output is centered within the panel. Whatever isn’t taken up by the image remains as borders surrounding the image and are represented as bars of color, often black or gray.
Stretched: The image output is stretched to a lower resolution image to fit on a screen with a higher resolution.
Maintain Aspect Ratio: The aspect ratio is the relationship of the width of a video image compared to its height (i.e. the resolution). This option allows the display output match the resolution selected from the drop-down list.
Maintain Display Scaling: This is the default scaling option. The scaling determines how much the screen content should be enlarged when measured in pixels. For example: scaling may be needed when trying to display a 1920 x 1080 resolution to take up the entire screen of a 4K monitor/TV to get the feeling of 4K content.
Custom: Allows for custom scaling to be applied so overscan can be corrected.
