How to Detect a Secondary Drive (Dynamic Disk listed as Foreign) on the Intel® NUC

Description

Additional second drive not available-showing up on Windows file explorer to be used.

  • Make sure to backup all data before proceeding with the steps below

  • Press Windows Key +x and select Disk Management.
  • Identify if second drive is detected,  if appears as dynamic disk showing foreign, the data on the disk is still there but invisible. To access data on the disk, you must add the disk to your computer's system configuration.
  • Right-click the foreign disk and select Import Foreign Disks.
  • After that, any existing volumes on the foreign disk become visible and accessible.
