Description

I can't determine how to create a RAID volume using the Intel® Embedded Software RAID Technology 2 (Intel® ESRT2) controller and UEFI BIOS.

Resolution

The first thing is to make sure the BIOS is configured in UEFI properly; see: How to set the BIOS in UEFI/Legacy Mode.

In order to create a RAID Volume with ESRT2, proceed as follows:

  1. Enter the Bios setup by pressing the F2 key, during the system boot
  2. Select Advanced
  3. Select PCI configuration
  4. Select UEFI Option ROM Control
  5. Select Intel® Embedded Software RAID Technology 2 (ESRT2)
  6. Select Virtual Drive Management
  7. Create Configuration
  8. Select Y to save the configuration
