How To Configure Intel® Virtual RAID on CPU (Intel® VROC) SATA With Two Drives Connected to the sSATA Controller on the Intel® Server Board S2600WFTR

Description

Unable to configure an Intel® VROC RAID with two drives connected to the sSATA controller of an Intel® Server Board S2600WFTR.

Resolution

To configure an Intel® VROC SATA RAID, follow these steps:

  1. Immediately following the POST, select the option that will allow for the user to access the BIOS setup menu. This example uses the F2 option.
  2. Using the arrow keys, move the cursor to highlight the menu option Advanced and press  the Enter key.
  3. Within the Advanced menu, navigate to the Mass Storage Controller Configuration item and press the Enter key.
  4. Within Mass Storage Controller Configuration, select the sSATA Controller menu for Ports 0-5 and press the Enter key.
  5. To enable the controller for RAID mode, the option by default will be lit up and set as AHCI. Press Enter to open a selection menu. Select the RAID mode option.
  6. Press F10 to save the changes and exit.
  7. Press Y to continue in order to confirm and reboot the system.
  8. After rebooting the system, access the BIOS setup menu.
  9. Select Advance menu, and then select the PCI Configuration option.
  10. In the next submenu, select UEFI Option ROM Control.
  11. Under Storage Controller, select Intel® VROC SATA Controller.
  12. Select the drives to create a RAID volume.
