Resolution

Intel® Memory and Storage Tool - GUI

  1. Download and install the Intel® Memory and Storage Tool (GUI) on the primary system drive.
  2. Open the tool and select the Secure Erase option in the left side panel.
  3. Press Secure Erase for the drive to be erased.
  4. Read the warning message and press the Ok button.
Note

The Secure Erase functionality is compatible on all supported operating systems when the following conditions are true.

Supported conditions (Intel® MAS version 2.0 and later):

 

Intel® Memory and Storage Tool - CLI

  1. .Download and install the Intel® Memory and Storage Tool (CLI) on the primary system drive
    • The Windows* installer is the same for the GUI and CLI.
  2. Open the command line interface of the operating system:
    • For Windows* users:
      1. Press the Windows* key.
      2. Type command prompt.
      3. Click Run as administrator.
    • For Linux* users:
      1. Open Terminal (for example: Ctrl+Alt+t)
  3. Type the command intelmas show -intelssd
    • No need to change directory as the commands are global.
  4. Reference the Index number of the drive to be erased.
  5. Type the command intelmas delete -intelssd <index>
    • <index> is the index number for the drive to be erased.
  6. Read the warning message, type Y and press Enter.
