Summary

The following steps are recommended when experiencing bad quality sound via Bluetooth* using a headset.

Description

Bad Bluetooth* headset quality using JBL Tune 700BT Bluetooth headset.  When changing it from Stereo to Hands-Free mode in Windows* (headset mode, start using mic) as default output any sound begins crackling and getting other loud artifacts that prevent it from being usable.

Resolution
  1. Perform a clean installation of the Bluetooth and Wireless drivers using the customized drivers from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).
  2. Try the clean installation as a second option using the Intel® generic drivers available at Download Center.
  3. Test the headset on another system or test different models of headsets on the system.
  4. Update the headset firmware.

If other models of headsets work fine on the system, this could be a compatibility issue or a problem specific to the headset in question and the recommendation is to contact the manufacturer of the headset for additional support.
