Invalid VIC Code 0 When Trying to Set a Resolution of 1920x1080

When the HDMI output is connected to certain devices which support 3840x2160 resolutions, but 1920x1080 is selected as the output resolution, the laptop outputs a 3840x2160 29Hz resolution with an invalid VIC code of 0.
Intel has investigated this situation and confirmed it to be normal behavior. This is because Windows® 10 does "virtual mode set" most of the time, which means it will program the panel's preferred timing and scale the source image with GPU or display engine scalers.
