How to deal with coil whine from Intel® Products
An Audible coil whine (noise) is coming from an Intel® NUC product or its power supply. Sometimes, the sound may occur when a USB camera or camcorder is connected to the USB port of the NUC. It's a subjective sound that some hear and others do not, depending on the amplitude.
- Test a different power adapter or cord.
- Try using different USB ports.
- Try using a different camera or camcorder with the same USB port.
- Update the BIOS to the latest version.
- If in need of further assistance, contact Intel Customer Support.
Coil whine is a high pitched noise caused by the vibration of an electromagnetic coil as current runs through it.
