Description

Randomly the Internet connection speed falls from 600Mb/s to near 10 Mb/s, 2Mb/s, and sometimes to 100 Mb/s. The Internet speed will go back after changing any advanced setting on the Intel® Ethernet Controller.

Resolution

Steps to fix random slow Internet connection speed:

  1. Update the drivers to the latest version.
  2. Disable ReduceSpeedOnPowerDown advanced setting in the adapter properties.
  3. Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power on the device’s advanced power properties.
