Why Is the Optimization Service with Intel® Optane™ Memory Not Starting?

• An error message shows up while trying to execute the Intel® Optane™ memory service: The Intel® Optane™ Memory service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.
• Intel® Optane™ memory is getting detected but service not working.

The possibility to run the optimization service is only available if the acceleration is enabled with the primary drive. Accelerating a secondary drive will not provide this option from the Intel® Optane™ memory application. Attempting to run the service manually from Windows* is not possible either and it will display the error message described above. 

The optimization service is only available for devices with 32 GB or more Intel® Optane™ memory capacity.
