Are you looking for support for a formerly Intel® NAND SSD?

You don't need to register your Intel® Optane™ SSD or module to obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA).

To review your warranty, refer to Limited Warranties for Intel® Optane™ SSDs and Modules.

To begin the warranty process, follow the instructions below.

Step 1. Gather the necessary information

When requesting for an RMA, you will be asked for the following information:

  • Serial number (SN/ISN) and model number: You can get this information by scanning the drive using the Intel® Memory and Storage Tool (GUI), or by checking the product markings printed on the product label.
  • SA number: The SA number is printed on the product label.
  • Proof of purchase: The proof of purchase is required to confirm whether the product is still within the warranty period.
  • Description of the symptoms or problem: The technical support team will try to help you recover the product back into a functional state. Knowing what the symptoms are will help the technical support team to provide you with better recommendations.
  • Troubleshooting steps taken: If you have already attempted to recover the product, sharing the troubleshooting steps taken will help the technical support team to not repeat what you already have done, and to speed up the RMA process.

Step 2. Check if your product is still under warranty

You can check by yourself if your product is still under the warranty period, and submit an RMA request if applicable. Follow the steps below to perform those actions:

  1. Go to the Intel Warranty Information portal.
  2. Select Intel® Optane™ Products from the product type dropdown.
  3. Enter the serial number of the product. This number is printed on the product label and may appear as SN or ISN.
  4. Click the Check products button.
  5. If your product is covered under warranty, click on the Request support for selected product option to start the RMA process.

Step 3. What to expect after submitting the RMA request

When you submit a new RMA request, a customer support representative will work and guide your through the RMA request process. The customer support representative will check if your product is eligible for warranty. If so, an RMA order will be created for you including the RMA number in a system-generated email message as well as the shipping instructions for returning your product to Intel.

When receiving this system-generated email message (after the RMA request was approved), read the shipping instructions thoroughly for where to ship your Intel product.
