Operating System OSV Certified for Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors
What is operating system (OS) compatibility dependent on?
OS compatibility (or supported operating systems) is not defined by the Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processor or a server's chipset, but it depends on the operating systems supported by the server motherboard or system. The motherboard or system manufacturer will validate certain operating systems with the motherboard or system and provide drivers for the supported operating systems.
Where do I get more OS compatibility information?
Contact your server system or motherboard manufacturer (original equipment manufacturer or OEM) for OS compatibility information. If you encounter issues when using one of the OEM's supported operating systems, ensure that you have the latest BIOS firmware and drivers installed from the OEM.
If you are using an Intel® Server Board or Intel® Server System, visit the specific product support website for your Server Configurator and compatibility Tools for OS compatibility information.
If you have any further questions, visit Intel® Processors, Tools, and Utilities Community, and in case of technical issues, contact the Intel Online Service Center.

OS and VMM Important Notes | This compatibility matrix implies that all later versions of a listed OS would be supported. This situation can change if the OSV (Operating System Vendor) specifically end-of-life support for a version of the OS. Customers are responsible for the certification of OS/VMM for their platforms. They may validate additional OS/VMM and/or platform features that are not validated by Intel and claim support on their platforms. Check with the OS/VMM suppliers for the latest and future OS/VMM support for a given generation of the Intel® Xeon® Scalable platform (links in the table above) or contact your server system or motherboard manufacturer (original equipment manufacturer or OEM) for OS compatibility information. |
