Description

  • Unable to set up multiple monitors
  • Unable to set up monitors with internal laptop display
  • Blank screen on secondary or third display

Resolution

Three display configurations:

  • Confirm the display configuration is supported.
  • Check the resolution is supported.

Power issues:

  • Verify all the displays are powered on.
  • If you are using a laptop computer and it is running on a battery, connect your laptop to an external power source. On some laptops, the external display device connector is not enabled when the laptop is running on battery.

Operating System issues:

  • Try rebooting the computer.

Connections issues:

  • Some monitors have more than one input connector. Verify that the display is configured to use the input connector or try a different input connector on the monitor. You might need to use the button or menu to switch to the appropriate input connector or source.
  • Check video cables and make sure they are properly plugged in the video ports on both the computer and the TV/display
  • Try reseating the video cable on both ends: where it connects to on the display and on the computer.
  • Try a different cable and/or connector type.
  • If using a docking station and only detects one display, try to move the other display directly to the laptop's HDMI port. Check for possible compatibility issues with the docking station.
  • If using adapters or dongles, try a direct connection (HDMI to HDMI, DisplayPort* to DisplayPort*, etc.). Using video adapters/converters may cause improper detection of one or more display(s) connected to your computer.

What should I do if the independent displays aren't working?

Contact your computer or motherboard manufacturer. Determine if your model supports three displays and what configurations are required. We provide general information about Intel® graphics features. Manufacturers can incorporate customizations that may not support all general graphics features.

Why is one external monitor in my multiple display configuration undetected by the Intel® Graphics Command Center or the Intel® Graphics Control Panel?

A monitor may not show up in the Intel® graphics user interface if the bandwidth/dot clock exceeds maximum allowable limits. The graphics driver dynamically detects displays in the Intel® Graphics Command Center and Intel® Graphics Control Panel based on the bandwidth availability.
