PC Stutters/Freezes Upon Clicking When Using a Hybrid Graphics System

Content Type: Troubleshooting   |   Article ID: 000041268   |   Last Reviewed: 07/06/2022

Environment

Intel® Graphics3rd party discrete graphics card Windows® 10 operating system

Description

System freezes for about half a second causing the mouse cursor to stutter when clicking on the battery icon on the task bar or opening the display settings when using a hybrid (integrated + discrete) graphics system.

Resolution

Graphics drivers 15.65.5.4982 and newer resolve the right-click desktop issue (and some other right-click stutters). There are some remaining stuttering issues happening in various areas of the OS experience however, and Intel has concluded that the remaining stuttering is caused by a different component.
We recommend reporting any remaining stuttering issues directly to your manufacturer.
