Description
Cannot install VMware ESXi* on RAID array created with software RAID solutions such as the Intel® Embedded Server RAID Technology 2 (Intel® ESRT2), Intel® Rapid Storage Technology enterprise (Intel® RSTe), and Intel® Virtual RAID on CPU (Intel® VROC).
Resolution
VMware ESXi* requires a compatible hardware Intel® RAID Controller for its installation.
RAID volumes created using Intel® ESRT2 and Intel® RSTe are not supported either as boot device or data store on ESXi*.
