Explains why no virtualization is detected for Xeon® E5530 by Intel® Processor Identification Utility.
Why does the Intel® Processor Identification Utility report the Intel® Xeon® Processor E5530 does not have VT when the Product Specifications page states it does?
- Refer to product specifications to verify if processor features include Intel® Virtualization Technology.
- Refer to How to Enable Intel® Virtualization Technology (Intel® VT) for Directed I/O (Intel® VT-d) for Intel® Server Board or Intel® Server System.
- Ensure corresponding Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) settings are set up properly.
- If the third-party board BIOS does not show all of the settings, check with the manufacturer for assistance.
Additional Analysis that could be taken into account:
- Ensure the board has the latest BIOS/firmware.
- Contact the board/system manufacturer.
- If it is an Intel board, click here to find out what the most current available version is.
- If possible, test the processor on another compatible board/system and run the Intel® Processor Identification Utility again to see if Intel VT is reported as non existent.
