Description
Server goes to a shell, not to Windows*, when it starts.
Resolution
The Change Boot Order screen allows you to configure the desired order of legacy or UEFI boot devices in which the boot device is to be tried sequentially. Refer to the Change Boot Order Screen section in the Intel® Server System BIOS Setup Utility Guide page:
- Press <F2> to enter system BIOS setup.
- From the Main screen, select Boot Maintenance Manager.
- Choose the Change Boot Order option.
- Press F10 to save changes and reboot.

After Windows* update, the system goes to the shell.
