Description

How to have the RAID volume recognized as a good, bootable volume?

Resolution

The steps to create the bootable virtual drive to install the operative system are placed on the Intel® RAID Software User Guide for full-featured an entry-level RAID controllers Guidance for configuring different families of Intel® Raid Controllers:

  1. Start from the sections 5.2.1 to 5.2.3
  2. Once you access the RAID menu, follow the instructions in sections 5.2.12 to 5.2.15.5
  3. Save the configuration.
  4. Restart the server and confirm the information displayed on the BIOS while starting.
  5. Turn off the server and place the USB thumb drive that contains the Operative System.
  6. Restart the server with option <F6> and proceed with the installation.
